About Us

The East Anglian Labrador Retriever Club (EALRC) was formed in the early 1960s at the instigation of Mrs Lou Wilson-Jones (Diant) together with a group of local Labrador enthusiasts. One of these, Mrs Peggy Rae (Cornlands), continued to be actively involved in the running of the Club until she passed away in 2010.

The EALRC held its first Open Show in 1964 and its first Championship Show in 1969. Field Trials came a little later, the first being held in October 1970. The first Open Qualifying stake took place in October 1980.

Shows

The EALRC holds two shows a year: a Championship Show in March and an Open Show in November. There is a reduced entry fee for members. Click here for forthcoming shows.

Field Trials

The EALRC runs a full programme of working events, including Working Tests, Novice and Open Field Trials. Members will receive preference in the draw for Field Trials run by the club. Click here for forthcoming Field Trials.

Training Classes

Gundog training classes are held during the summer months.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the East Anglian Labrador Retriever Club regrets to announce that we will not be holding training classes in summer 2024.
